Deficient Monitoring |
Did not conduct monthly receiving water monitoring for turbidity, hardness, and salinity during January 2023. Monitoring not performed for either upstream or downstream receiving water. According to MVR, the cause of the violation was a combination of extreme weather that made monitoring unsafe and the third party contractor being confused about monitoring requirements. |

Unauthorized Discharge |
One of the facility's ponds (Tank Farm Pond) overflowed onto a bermed road. The water overtopped the berm and flowed down the adjacent hillside to Alameda Creek. Part of the berm was sloughed off and carried with the water towards the creek. Water also reached an area called "Creek Crossing" where Calaveras and Alameda Creek intersect. The quantity of water that was discharged is unknown. MVR suspects that the discharge was caused by non-synchronized pumps. Estimated quantity of discharge: 10,007 gallons. |
