Per the May SMR: On May 12, 2025, approximately 240,000 gallons of secondary treated, disinfected wastewater was discharged to Islais Channel at Discharge Point No. EFF-002 (Quint Street Outfall). The discharge started at approximately 07:34 am and ended at approximately 08:04 am. The cause was a faulty bubbler level indicator at the Booster Pump Station and inability to automatically switch to a redundant level control using the Distributed Control System (DCS).

Order Conditions
Per the November SMR: On November 22, pumping at North Point Wet Weather Facility (NPF) intermittently dropped to less than 135 MGD due to a pump failure caused by a variable frequency drive fault. SFPUC Operations worked with a contractor to reset the pump, which was out of service for approximately 20 minutes due to the need for control program sequencing. SFPUC anticipates that this issue will be resolved in January 2025, when the control system is replaced. The effect of this issue on the average pumping rate and the volume of CSD was small: the average pumping rate at NPF during Bayside CSDs was approximately 134 MGD and the increase in CSD volume was less than 0.93 MG or less than 0.16% of the Bayside CSD volume.

Order Conditions
Did not comply with wet weather plant operational requirements, as described in Provision VI.C.5.c.iv(b). INF flow was not maximized while discharge from the Westside Transport/Storage Structure to Discharge Point 001 occurred. This resulted in approximately 6.6 MG of wastewater being discharged as decant rather than 3.1 MGD receiving primary treatment and 3.5 MGD receiving secondary treatment at OSP.

Order Conditions
Did not comply with wet weather plant operational requirements, as described in Provision VI.C.5.c.iv(d). Two duty pumps at Sea Cliff No. 1 Pump Station were not operating at maximum capacity prior to discharge from Discharge Point CSD-005. This resulted in approximately 0.023 MG of additional wastewater being discharged out CSD-005 instead of being routed to the westside Transport/Storage Structure.
