SW - Deficient BMP Implementation |
On November 29, 2023, Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board (Santa Ana Water Board) staff conducted a compliance inspection of the Van Dyk Tank Lines Inc Cool Transports industrial facility located at 1800 S Riverside Ave in the City of Colton. Santa Ana Water Board staff made the following observations during the inspection: Newly acquired adjacent property was not identified on the site map nor included in the total site size acreage. Accumulation of sediment near the storm drain inlet. Pile of scrap materials near the historical structure. Puddle of liquid under tractor trailer. Litter used to clean-up leaks was still present on floor. |

1. ?Los Angeles River or Los Angeles River Tributaries? needs to be selected in addition to ?Los Angeles River Watershed? in the TMDL Waterbody/Watershed Information section under the ?Addl. Facility Info? tab of SMARTS. 2. Stormwater was not sampled for TSS for the QSE occurred on 12/28/2020. 3. Cadmium, copper, lead, and zinc should be monitored because the facility conducts vehicle maintenance on-site. 4. Descriptions of (field and laboratory) quality assurance and quality control methods used are missing in the SWPPP. 5. Descriptions of industrial activities for the sublease, Harbor Division, are missing. 6. The facility map should show the boundaries between Cool Transports and Harbor Division. |
