Unauthorized Discharge |
Per the May SMR: On May 12, 2025, approximately 240,000 gallons of secondary treated, disinfected wastewater was discharged to Islais Channel at Discharge Point No. EFF-002 (Quint Street Outfall). The discharge started at approximately 07:34 am and ended at approximately 08:04 am. Order Conditions |
Per the November SMR: On November 22, pumping at North Point Wet Weather Facility (NPF) intermittently dropped to less than 135 MGD due to a pump failure caused by a variable frequency drive fault. SFPUC Operations worked with a contractor to reset the pump, which was out of service for approximately 20 minutes due to the need for control program sequencing. SFPUC anticipates that this issue will be resolved in January 2025, when the control system is replaced. The effect of this issue on the average pumping rate and the volume of CSD was small: the average pumping rate at NPF during Bayside CSDs was approximately 134 MGD and the increase in CSD volume was less than 0.93 MG or less than 0.16% of the Bayside CSD volume. |
