1099619 09/23/2021 Order Conditions On 23 September 2021, the Discharger reported that at approximately 2:30 PM while pumping raw wastewater from the clarifier to fill digester #1, the hose connection from the pump to the digester separated allowing the wastewater to spill on the Facility?s ground. According to the Discharger some of the wastewater was absorbed into the grass area around the clarifiers and most of the wastewater made it to the overflow basin and drying bed #1, all the spill water was contained in the Facility?s ground. The Discharger estimated that a total of 375,000 gallons of wastewater was spilled during this incident. Violation None Report Modesto WQCF WW Land Disposal (secondary trtmt) 147127 99-112 Y
1099618 08/11/2021 Order Conditions On 11 August 2021, the Discharger reported that a leak was discovered in cannery segregation line that runs between the Sutter Plant and the Jennings Plant. The leak was discovered coming up from the levee road and running into the drying bed at approximately 50 gallons per minute. The Discharger inspected and confirmed that the Tuolumne River side of the line is no leaking and no spill made it to the Tuolumne River. The Discharger estimated that a total of 10,000 gallons of wastewater was spilled during this incident. Violation None Report Modesto WQCF WW Land Disposal (secondary trtmt) 147127 99-112 Y
1099617 07/01/2021 Order Conditions On 1 July 2021, the Discharger reported that one of its operation staff mistakenly opened a valve (DRY-SG9) at the Dryden Box Influent Structure, believing it to be necessary to divert cannery segregation water to the Pumping Plant #3. Instead, the valve was for the emergency diversion structure with the Dryden influent structure (distribution box for cannery segregation and domestic flows). Because of this the domestic wastewater mixed with the cannery segregation water and flow in to Pumping Plant #3 and ultimately discharged to the Jennings Ranch. Once the incident was discovered by the Discharger it immediately closed valve DRY-SG9. According to the Discharger, approximately 3 million gallons of domestic wastewater was sent, and land applied to the Jennings Ranch. Violation None Report Modesto WQCF WW Land Disposal (secondary trtmt) 147127 99-112 Y
1099616 06/16/2021 Order Conditions On 16 June 2021, the Discharger reported that a partially treated wastewater used for irrigation spilled to into the slough adjacent to Filed #16. According to the Discharger, due to an error the operator released more water than originally agreed upon. As result, the partially treated wastewater filled the filed up to the berm and entering gopher holes and exiting holes on the opposite side of the dirt road and then flowing into the slough. Approximately a total of 28,500 gallons of partially treated water discharged into the slough. Violation None Report Modesto WQCF WW Land Disposal (secondary trtmt) 147127 99-112 Y
1099615 05/11/2021 Order Conditions On 11 May 2021, the Discharger reported that an operator accidentally opened a winterizing valve on one of the tailwater pump stations that leads to the onsite slough. According to the Discharger, it recaptured the spill and returned it to the pond/irrigation system. Approximately a total of 6,300 gallons of water discharged and recaptured and returned to the Facility. Violation None Report Modesto WQCF WW Land Disposal (secondary trtmt) 147127 99-112 Y
