1105574 02/24/2022 DMON Per Section VIII.1 of the MRP, receiving water samples shall be analyzed quarterly for MBAS. Analytical results of samples collected from receiving water stations RSW-001U and RSW-002D on February 24 are invalid due to data integrity issues. Make-up samples will be collected as soon as possible. Corrective actions to prevent this from recurring include: 1) purchase and implementation of a spectrophotometer that has a reading log and can directly and electronically transfer results to the data management system to assure analytical results are accurately recorded, 2) routine review of analysts adherence to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and 3) additional staff assigned to oversee laboratory activities. 1074397 02/06/2020 DMON Per Section VIII.A.1 of the MRP, the seventeen compounds comprising the TCDD equivalents shall be monitored semiannually at receiving water station RSW-001U; Section I.A of the MRP specifies semiannual sampling in the months of February and August. However, the February sample was inadvertently analyzed only for 2,3,7,8-TCDD. A make-up sample could not be collected because the problem was identified after the monitoring period (i.e., February) had ended. Monitoring for the seventeen TCDD-equivalent compounds will be performed during the next sampling event in May. To prevent a re-occurrence of this issue, monitoring requirements will be reviewed with appropriate staff.
