1082858 12/19/2020 SSOS Type: Category 1. Root Intrusion;After the blockage was cleared the mainline was videoed to determine the cause of the spill. Roots were found coming out of a private lateral. After discovering the roots, the mainline was jetted using a chain flail nozzle to cut the roots. Thereafter the mainline was videoed again to ensure the roots were cleared. Lateral that contained roots may be abandoned and is under investigation. caused 725.0 gallons of sewage to spill from Manhole at Manhole R9079 to Other (specify below);Sewage spilled from storm drain discharge into creek. The creek only receives water from the storm drain. The sewage was contained in the creek and did not runoff to the ocean or any other location.. Surface water body affected (Creek located on the South/East side of Lookout Park in Summerland California). Cleaned-Up;Restored flow;Returned All Spill to Sanitary Sewer System;Other Enforcement Agency Notified. ;Notified the Office of Emergency Services (Report # 20-7062), Santa Barbara Environmental Health Services, and Regional Water Quality Control Board (Peter Von Langen) Violation B SSO
