Copper, Total Recoverable Monthly Average limit is 7.0 ug/L and reported value was 16 ug/L. |
In October, the Discharger proceeded to identify and turn off extraction wells with high turbidity and metal concentrations. It replaced cartridge filters, replace GAC media, and clean tanks and filter housings, before purging the treatment system to perform a system startup. On October 24, it sampled the effluent as part of the Start-Up Phase. Effluent concentrations were permit compliant. On November 1, as part of 5-day sampling of the SUP, it resampled the treatment system, and again, the effluent concentration were permit compliant. The treatment system has been in operation since November 1, 2022. |

UAUTHDISC |
On June 18, 2020, utility construction occurring offsite damaged an inlet pipeline that conveys untreated groundwater from offsite extraction wells. The contractor had been previously notified to hand excavate the marked area, but the excavation was still performed with a backhoe. Once the pipeline ruptured, the secondary containment of the pipe detected the leak and shutdown the treatment system. Approximately 180 gallons of untreated groundwater were released onto the trenched area, 50 of which were recovered and put back into the treatment system. No untreated groundwater reached storm drains or receiving waters. |
The discharger isolated the damaged pipe while waiting to find a replacement. The discharger planned to restart the entire system on July 2, 2020. |
