Chromium (VI) Total Recoverable Monthly Average limit is 8.1 ug/L and reported value was 9.7 ug/L. |
The Discharger shut down the treatment system on June 30. The Discharger recommends to implement treatment for CrVI or diverting all wastewater to the POTW if CrVI compliance can’t be achieved. Also, it recommends to limit pumping wells with document CrVI concentrations above effluent limitations and if they must be pumped, that water should be separated and disposed through a POTW. |

Chromium (VI) Total Recoverable Monthly Average limit is 8.1 ug/L and reported value was 8.3 ug/L. |
For the month of June the discharger will continue to collect effluent samples for the monthly average concentration calculations. It will limit pumping from wells with documented hexavalent chromium concentrations above effluent limits. If they need to be pumped, the groundwater will be diverted to the sanitary sewer. If AMEL compliance can't be achieved, the discharger will implement hexavalent chromium treatment or divert all groundwater to the sanitary sewer. |

Chromium (VI) Total Recoverable Monthly Average (Mean) limit is 8.1 ug/L and reported value was 29 ug/L. |
Between October 18 and November 8, 2021, the discharger partially replaced the adsorbent media to target CrVI and sampled extraction wells to identify the source of CrVI. This led to the shutdown of one extraction wells and decreased concentrations of CrVI in the influent of the treatment system. The discharger identified the following: (1) wells impacted by CrVI shouldn't be pumped, but if it's required, the wastewater should be contained and hauled away to a licensed treatment facility (2) the treatment system should be flushed and refreshed with wastewater from clean wells, and, only after effluent results are acceptable it can resume discharge to the storm drain (3) media changeout is recommended to remove traces of CrVI in the treatment system (4) the discharger will continue to sample the treatment system to ensure compliance with the permit's limits (5) bench scale testing should be performed to identify treatment solutions, including pH reduction, resin treatment, or electrochemical precipitation. |

*As of 5/20/2010, the Water Board's Enforcement Policy requires that all violations be classified as 1, 2 or 3, with class 1 being the highest. Prior to this, violations were simply classified as Yes or No. If a 123 classification has been assigned to a violation that occurred before this date, that classification data will be displayed instead of the Yes/No data.
