Deficient Reporting |
The laboratory miscommunicated with the subcontracted laboratory and the tests to analyze for benzidine and hexachlorobenzene were not run within hold time. We have attached an explanation letter under the attachment section. |
We had a discussion with the laboratory director. We will be changing the chain of custody so it is clearer to the subcontracted laboratory. |

See attached laboratory letter. Fruit Growers Laboratory failed to notify Calleguas they were subcontracting out several methods due to the helium shortage. The subcontracted laboratory was not notified to run the 625 method; therefore, benzidine and hexachlorobenzene were not analyzed. Calleguas was notified of this error on 4/27/2022. |
Calleguas will meeting with Fruit Growers Laboratory and request to be notified any time samples are subcontracted out and will check will require an additional review to be performed by FGL's director when this occurs. |
