1072545 04/10/2020 SSOS Type: Category 1. Flow Exceeded Capacity (Separate CS Only);Spill was caused by Huge Rain Event. The City of Encinitas received 4.51" of rain in a 24 hour period. this amount of rain caused infiltration into the MH''''s in the Escondido creek and the system was overloaded. caused 2240.0 gallons of sewage to spill from Gravity Mainline;Lateral Clean Out (Private);The sewer system was overloaded by rain water, this caused the system to back up. The discharge occurred at a Private sewer lateral located at 2909 Lone Jack Rd. at 2909 Lone Jack Road to Surface Water;Escondido Creek. Surface water body affected (Escondido Creek). Other (specify below). ;2240 Gals. Spill was discharged into the Escondido creek. Once we learned of the surcharge issue in the sewer pipe, we called in several pumping trucks and began vacuuming sewerage from MH's. at 9:14am. When we started vacuuming from the MH's, the surcharge in the MH's reduced keeping the sewage from spilling. From 9:14am to 9:15pm, we vacuumed and removed 68,700 gallons and prevented any further spills Violation B SSO
