Type: Category 3. Pipe Structural Problem/Failure;Broken 4" PVC Force Main caused 750.0 gallons of sewage to spill from Force Main;There was no spill at time of arrival. Operators were checking Lift Stations after a power outage and found the broken main. When checking the pump, the wastewater would come up and then back into the hole. They walked the drainage channel, no odors or other evidence of sewage. It had rained before the break was found. Lift station is small and only pumps 0.25 hours on average per week. at Oak Shores Rd and Tree Trap Rd (2677 Tree Trap) to Unpaved surface;The area around the wet well had noticeable erosion. Water likely spilled onto the surface around wet well and created a sink hole. See attachments.. No surface water body affected. |
