PUMP STATION WAS BROUGHT BACK ON-LINE TO EMPTY THE CONTAINMENT POND AT THE PUMP STATION THAT WAS AT A CRITICAL LEVEL THAT COULD HAVE DISCHARGED UP TO 375,000/HR. INTO LAKE HODGES HAD IT NOT BEEN PUMPED DOWN. THE VAULT CONTAINED THE WASTEWATER THAT LEAKED FROM THE CRACKED TEE DURING PUMP STATION OPERATION. TO FACILITATE EMPTYING THE VAULT A SECOND TIME TO INSERT A TEMPORARY SPOOL IN PLACE OF THE CRACKED TEE THE CITY DEPLOYED BARGES ON LAKE HODGES TO PUMP THE WASTEWATER INTO CONTAINMENT VESSELS THAT TRANSPORTED THE WASTEWATER TO A BOAT RAMP WHERE IT WAS RETRIEVED BY VACTOR TRUCKS AND RETURNED TO THE COLLECTION SYSTEM. ALL AGENCIES WERE NOTIFIED, WATER QUALITY SAMPLES WERE TAKEN. |
