Type: Category 1. Vandalism;A homeless person pitched a tent by manholes 16 and
17, eyewitness accounts and evidence surrounding these
manholes show that he gained access to several secured
manholes and dumped a variety of objects in them
including tents, tires, trash, and rocks. this large debris
created several obstructions in downstream pipes and
manholes and cause the spill. the Victorville sheriff was
called and based on eyewitness accounts sheriff
deputies arrested this person.

At the time of drafting this report, the arrest report is
not yet available caused 254370.0 gallons of sewage to spill from Manhole;These four manholes are downstream of manholes 16,17
and 18 where the vandalism occurred at Hesperia Interceptor to Drainage Channel;When the spill occurred, it come out of these manholes
covers and ended up in a nearby wash. Surface water body affected (Mojave River). |
