Type: Category 1 Spill; Inappropriate Discharge to Collection System,Fats, Oil and Grease (FOG),Other (specify below) caused 700 gallons of sewage to spill from Manhole at SVCSD_M72-8 to Surface Water |
Enforcement action against Fats, Oil, and Grease (FOG) source. The District has responded to multiple spill events at this location due to the same upstream user activity. Following the initial incident, the user was asked to provide advance notice prior to future private line maintenance. While notice was provided, it proved ineffective — crews cleaned the siphon upon notification, but debris had not yet reached the District's system at that time and subsequently caused a blockage. Given that education and advance notice have not prevented recurrence, the District is escalating to a formal Warning Notice requiring the user to submit a written debris capture plan for District approval. The affected main is on an accelerated cleaning schedule and no infrastructure deficiencies were identified. |
