The eSMR does not contain the required results for Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) at Location IRR-FOR June 03 and 10, 2024 and at location INF-001 on June 05, 2024. |
The City of Modesto laboratory experienced a QA/QC failure while analyzing samples for TDS. By the time the failure was recognized and diagnosed the samples had exceeded hold time. The City of Modesto Laboratory has identified the root cause of the quality control failure to be faulty coating on newly purchased crucibles. The supplier of the equipment has been notified and the faulty items have been returned. We believe this to be a one-time occurrence. |

On 1 July 2021, the Discharger reported that one of its operation staff mistakenly opened a valve (DRY-SG9) at the Dryden Box Influent Structure, believing it to be necessary to divert cannery segregation water to the Pumping Plant #3. Instead, the valve was for the emergency diversion structure with the Dryden influent structure (distribution box for cannery segregation and domestic flows). Because of this the domestic wastewater mixed with the cannery segregation water and flow in to Pumping Plant #3 and ultimately discharged to the Jennings Ranch. Once the incident was discovered by the Discharger it immediately closed valve DRY-SG9. According to the Discharger, approximately 3 million gallons of domestic wastewater was sent, and land applied to the Jennings Ranch. |

The eSMR for October 2020 does not include Flow results at location INF-001 from October 6-7, 2020. The City of Modesto¿s Ignition SCADA system had an issue with the vendor database server on October 6th, 2020, which interrupted data collection. |
City IT staff and the City¿s contracted system integrator (Telstar) identified the root cause of the issue to be a missing server license. Telstar purchased the server license initially and after investigating their order workflow, Telstar reported that the licensing was still registered to one of their buyers and wasn¿t applied to the system. Telstar then had to re-register the server license with their company, download the licensing, and apply the license the City¿s database server to get the system back online. The system came back online and resumed data collection October 8th, 2020 at 2pm. The data was lost for October 6th and 7th, and cannot be recovered. City IT staff is currently working with Telstar to implement failover and notification options for the Ignition SCADA system, along with verifying server licensing for all SCADA servers. |
