We will continue our schedule monthly effluent monitoring and closely evaluate selenium results in upcoming laboratory reports to identify any recurring trends. A detail review of current plant operations will be conducted to assess potential changes in our influent characteristics, treatment processes, and operation practices that may have contributed to the elevated concentrations. As part of our corrective response, NAF El Centro Environmental Compliance staff conducted a cursory investigation to identify potential sources contributing elevated selenium to the wastewater collection system. No sources were identified. We continued routine monthly monitoring. The September monitoring results indicated selenium levels were non-detect (ND). demonstrating that the exceedance was not sustained. Nonetheless, we will maintain close oversight of future sampling results to ensure compliance is consistently achieved. |
