On August 5, 2025 at 11:53am our UV system had a flow exceedance. This lasted for 30 seconds. The UV system is rated for 4.5MGD and we saw a peak flow of 5.8MGD |
Operations staff responded immediately to
the alarm and verified that the flow returned to normal within seconds.
The incident was logged and reviewed internally.
Preventive Actions Implemented
Staff have adjusted the effluent valve control logic to limit the speed of valve opening rates.
A procedural update has been issued requiring manual verification of valve positions before bringing filters online.
Additional training has been provided to operations staff on surge mitigation during filter transitions.
