For the week starting 5/5/2024 ending 5/11/2024:
cBOD sampled on 5/8/2024 was sent to Alpha Analytical Lab for analysis. 5/9/2024 and 5/10/2024 cBOD samples were sent to CEL Analytical Lab for analysis. Alpha Analytical Lab reported cBOD as > 22mg/L. CEL Analytical lab invalidated the samples sent on 5/9/2024 and 5/10/2024.
Therefore, we did not have a cBOD result for the week ending 5/11/2024. |
Spoke with both analytical labs and put in corrective actions to prevent future errors. Alpha Analytical will analyze additional dilutions and CEL analytical has modified their seed preparation. |

We have been working with our consultant, Hazen and Sawyer, and their protocols, to improve the methane former population in the primary digester. Digester 1 was reseeded with approximately 550,000 gallons of sludge. It is now fully operational and accepting all daily feed. This removes the excess load off the secondary digester and centrifuge waste stream. With two healthy digesters, the secondary clarifier effluent has begun the process of recovery. |

The properly digested sludge, contained in this digester, will be slowly transferred to our sour digester and take the place of the sour sludge. This will take the load off from the centrate recycle stream and allow the plant to fully recover. |

Carbonaceous Biochemical Oxygen Demand (CBOD) (5-day @ 20 Deg. C) Monthly Average limit is 25 mg/L and reported value was 95.6 mg/L at EFF-001. |
We have been working with our consultant, Hazen and Sawyer and their protocols to improve the methane-former population in the primary digester. Last week, Digester 1 was re-seeded and is already taking approximately 1/3 of the plants total sludge feed. Once Digester 1 is up and running at full capacity, as the primary digester, the load on digester 2 will be significantly reduced, allowing the secondary clarifier effluent to clear up. |
