The facility met all NPDES discharge requirements for the month of June; however, there was a violation for deficient Sampling due to failing to obtain a representative sample for BOD because of equipment malfunction during the week of June 9th. |
Because the violation occurred due to equipment malfunction, a second composite sampler has been purchased and installed next to the current sampler so in the event that one of the samplers fails, we still have a sample to run. |

The Salinas Valley Reclamation Project (SVRP) met all water quality objectives and permit requirements for the month of February; however, there was a violation in sample frequency for BOD and TSS on February 8 & 15 as a result of insufficient sample due to missed composite samples as the facility was operating in recirculation for portions of the days samples were missed. |
If the facility operates in recirculation for long periods of time in a day, staff will collect grab samples in place of the composites to ensure enough sample is available for all required parameters. |

For RSW-A Entero samples obtained on 2/13/2024 and 2/22/2024 there was a violation of the 30-day Geo Mean. Neither of those samples exceeded the single sample maximum; furthermore, the results for the sample obtained on 2/26/2024 brought us back into compliance. M1W staff believes the exceedances were a result of a plume from the Salinas River following storm events that preceded with our ocean sampling events. |
Resampled 2/22/2023 and 2/26/2024 to brin g30-Day Geo Mean in compliance. |
