The Discharger violated the UV system operating specification for UV dose contained in the WDRs/NOA, as listed in Table C. The Discharger stated that they lowered the target dose to 80 mJ/cm2 according to new MBR process guidelines rather than maintaining permit requirement of 100 mJ/cm2. The Discharger increased the target dose back to 105 mJ/cm2 when they realized the permit limit had not been amended. After returning to the higher target dose, the Discharger noted average dose was still dipping below the setpoint and identified several UVI sensors that were causing the dose to be calculated artificially low. The Discharger replaced the faulty sensors in July 2024 and UVI dose calculations are now above the 100 mJ/cm2 permit requirement. |

The Discharger stated that the effluent pH sensor has been malfunctioning and several instantaneous high pH values have been recorded that do not indicate true effluent pH. However, the effluent pH exceedance on 3 August 2023 lasted longer than the other high pH readings during the month and could not be positively attributed to a malfunctioning pH sensor. A new primary pH sensor has been installed and a backup pH sensor is stored on site. |

The 1/4" tube that fed the UVT meter sprung a seep and the inside of the UVT meter got water in it causing the couvette to fog up. You could clean the couvette and the UVT would go back up to >70%, but that only lasted until the couvette fogged up again. |
The desiccant bag inside the meter was changed as soon as one could be found and UVT raised above 75% consistently. We now have a stock of ten desiccant bags incase this were to happen again. |

UAUTHDISC |
There was an unauthorized discharge of biosolids from the temporary centrifuge outside of the Biosolids Dewatering Room on 24 February 2020. The Facility¿s Sludge Centrifuge was out of service for repairs during the Board inspection of the Facility. A temporary centrifuge was being used by to dewater the biosolids. A malfunction occurred with the temporary centrifuge discharge pump causing a spill of approximately 1,500 gallons of biosolids on the paved and unpaved surfaces on the east side of the Facility. The weather was dry when the spill occurred and the biosolids did not reach surface water. Facility staff recovered some of the dried biosolids from spill by raking and shoveling the spill area. Recovered biosolids were placed in the sludge haul truck and the grit disposal container. |
