Chlorine, Total Residual Instantaneous Maximum limit is 5400 ug/L and reported value was 17106 ug/L at EFF-001. |
To prevent similar incidents in the future, we have collaborated with Aspect Engineering, the team responsible for programming our PLC. They set up a program that locks in our last values on our chemical PLC in case of faults, allowing us time to respond without compromising chlorination and de-chlorination in our treated effluent. |

We regret to inform the Board that we are submitting, via CIWQS, a permit violation for deficient monitoring for the month of July. Plant staff inadvertently failed to collect and test for monthly Oil & Grease and Ammonia from the Final Effluent (EFF-001) as required in the MSD NPDES permit. We do, however, have Oil & Grease data from upstream of the final effluent sample point, at the Secondary Clarifier Effluent for three separate days in July which were collected for process control. All three sample results were below the Reporting Limit (RL) of 5.0 mg/L. Regarding Ammonia, we do not have a limit for the analyte in our permit. The range for the last 12 samplings is 0.13 to 0.43 mg/L.
|
To prevent this from occurring in the future we are implementing a ¿flag¿ warning in our LIMS system to display a visual signal when monthly samples have yet to be collected.
