(1) Exceeded the Upper Tolerance Limits Alkalinity as CaCO3, Bicarbonate as HCO3, Calcium, Chloride, Magnesium, Nitrogen, Nitrate (as N), Sodium, Sulfate, Total Dissolved Solids during the 2021 2nd Half Semi Annual monitoring period. Violates Board Order R6V-2006-0026 MRP I.B.3.(2) Exceeded MDL of 1,1-Dichloroethane, 1,4-Dichlorobenzene, Benzene, Chlorobenzene, Chloroform, cis-1,2-Dichloroethene, Dichlorodifluoromethane, Phenol, Tetrachloroethene (PCE), Toluene, Trichloroethene (TCE), Trichlorofluoromethane, and Vinyl chloride during the 2021 2nd Half Semi Annual monitoring period. Violates Board Order R6V-2006-0026 MRP I.B.3. c. |
An EMP and CAP is being implemented by the Discharger at LHSL. The County implemented the following corrective action measures: a pump-and-treat remediation system that operated from 1996 to 2000 pumping groundwater from LH-8 for air-sparging treatment and reinjection of treated groundwater into LH-18, construction of a final cover which included passive gas vents as part of the monitored natural attenuation (MNA) CAP in 2007, and initiation of a bioremediation pilot study including construction of three injection wells near LH-1 which introduced bio-enhancement media to the NFR groundwater for anaerobic de-chlorination of tetrachloroethene (PCE) and trichloroethene (TCE) in July 2015, a second injection was conducted in November 2018, followed by a first-time aquifer inoculation event with additional dehalococcoides bacteria colonies in February 2019. |
