Acute Toxicity-Mysid, H. costata or M. bahia-survival Maximum Daily (MDEL) limit is 2.7 TUa and reported value was 2.8 TUa at EFF-001. |
The toxicity exceedance is believed to have been caused by an upset at the bioreactor. A higher than usual load of solids, oil and organic materials entered the bioreactor causing a drop of dissolved oxygen in the basins. This may have caused the incomplete biodegradation of organic material. The refinery took steps to decrease load and increase oxygen concentrations in the bioreactor to correct this issue. |

Enterococci Instantaneous Maximum limit is 104 MPN/100 mL and reported value was 2400 MPN/100 mL at EFF-T-710. |
It appears the elevated enterococcus results at T-710 may have been transitory as upstream samples do not indicate elevated enterococcus. |
