1127257 01/31/2024 CAT1 Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) (5-day @ 20 Deg. C) 30-Day Average limit is 10.0 mg/L and reported value was 10.8 mg/L. Violation B Report
1121342 08/06/2023 SSOS On August 6, 2023, a FOG blockage caused an estimated total spill volume of 7,000 gallons that overflowed from three sanitary sewer system manholes near 28061 Heron Court in Carmel Valley Ranch, of which 600 gallons discharged to three storm drains connected to the Carmel River (a water of the United States). The remaining 6,400 gallons of sewage discharged to land, was recovered by hydro-vacuum truck, and properly disposed of. On August 16, 2023, a FOG blockage in the same part of the sewer system caused an estimated total spill volume of 600 to 1,200 gallons to overflow. The overflow spilled from one sanitary sewer system manhole at the Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Course near 28025 Barn Way. Violation B Report
1122046 07/10/2023 OEV Turbidity 24-hour Average limit is 2.0 NTU and reported value was 2.84 NTU. Violation B Report
1122047 06/15/2023 OEV Total Coliform Not to exceed a specific limit more than once within any 30-day period. limit is 23 MPN/100 mL and reported value was 28.8 MPN/100 mL. Violation B Report
1119123 04/19/2023 OEV Turbidity 24-hour Average limit is 2.0 NTU and reported value was 3.12 NTU. Violation B Report
1108268 06/28/2022 Order Conditions CA American Water violated Permit Section D.2. The facility collects grab samples daily and does not have a continuous sampler. Violation B Inspection
1108267 06/28/2022 Order Conditions First, CA American Water did not have a current Operation and Maintenance Manual or preventative maintenance program. Second, the sand filters are not being maintained, as demonstrated by the increased turbidity measured across the filters at the time of the inspection. Upgrades and needed maintenance had not occurred, even though the results during the inspection were close to exceeding the daily average effluent limit of 2 NTU, and the self-reported violations show exceedances of 2 NTU. Third, it is unclear how often the clarifiers are cleaned or taken offline to maintain. Due to the algae growth observed during the inspection, it appears they need more regular washing and maintenance. Violation B Inspection
1108270 06/28/2022 Failure to Notify CA American Water violated Permit Section B.1 by not maintaining records of diversions. CA American Water should be diverting wastewater when turbidity exceeds the effluent limits. Per Title 22 section 60329, CA American Water should be reporting these diversions. Violation B Inspection
