pH Daily Average (Mean) limit is 6.00 SU and reported value was 5.38 SU at EFF-002. |
Approximately, 85,000 gallons of seeding sludge was transported to the Treatment Plant to increase microbial activity. Also, additives were injected to the reactors to increase microbial activity and mitigate against increased toxicity, especially quaternary amines, and protect the microbes by strengthening their resistance. The Crockett Community Service District and C&H Sugar diverted their wastewater to holding tanks. Lime was incorporated into the Treatment Plant reactors to raise the pH.
A generator will be purchased and installed at the Treatment Plant to mitigate future occurrences related to microbial die-off associated with the electric failure. In addition, additives to increase microbial activity and decrease toxicity will be stored at the Treatment Plant, where when expired, re-orders will be made. The Contingency and Spill Prevention Plan will be revised and training will be completed to the Treatment Plant operators accordingly.

Discharger’s pier renovation project did not have adequate measures in place to minimize or prevent discharges of construction debris from the pier renovation project. While efforts were being made to move the bulk of debris into storage bins, the wood platform floating beneath the pier was insufficient to capture falling chunks of concrete and finer particulates while working directly over Carquinez Strait. |
