Nitrate, Total (as N) Daily Maximum limit is 10.0 mg/L and reported value was 12.0 mg/L. |
In September the City exceeded the effluent Total Nitrogen limit of 10 mg/L with a result of 12
mg/L; however the 25-month rolling median has never exceeded the groundwater permit limit of
10 mg/L. The 25-month rolling median in December 2024 was 3.1 mg/L. The City continues to
monitor Total Nitrogen results in the event they trend in an upward direction. In 2025, the City
began working with Wallace Group and Kennedy Jenks Engineers to begin reviewing potential
process control changes and potential WWTP improvements to address increases in Total
Nitrogen. |

GWAT |
Down-gradient monitoring wells 1 and 2 had Chloride concentrations of 220 and 210 mg/L respectively. This violates Groundwater Chloride level of no more than 150 mg/L. This occurred in January, April, July, and October. |
While these values exceed the permit limit, the City sees a downward trend in Sodium values
for both wells over the course of the calendar year. This is attributed to source control measures
to reduce discharges from reverse osmosis and salt-based water softeners.
