Order Conditions |
I inspected the Dole Package Frozen Foods wastewater effluent ponds, and the land application areas used to apply wastewater. Wastewater effluent is stored in two effluent storage ponds prior to disposal to land application areas. I observed the sprinklers irrigating the land application areas at the time of the inspection. Odors could be detected on the nearby public road while the sprinklers were active. I identified a violation for failure to keep objectionable odors within the facility. This is a violation of Discharge Specification C.3, which requires that discharge shall not create conditions that result in objectionable odors perceivable beyond the limits of the wastewater treatment and disposal areas. |
