Conservation Supporting Information
Description of conservation methods
Optimum water conservation efforts are ongoing and include, but are not limited to, good water management and farming practices such as recirculation system, crop shifts, varietal changes, laser leveling of fields, weed abatement, and irrigation scheduling techniques. The total quantity of water conserved during each year is variable and depends upon numerous factors, including but not limited to climatic conditions, hydrologic conditions, and on farm operational practices.
Description of baseline water use and time period
Differentiating and measuring or quantifying conserved water for some efforts is not possible or feasible due to the complexity of the multiple variables involved.
Description of conservation calculation methods
Conserved water used? No
Additional Remarks
Purpose of Use: The acreage identified in this report receives water under RRG Garden Properties LLC (formerly River Garden Farms Company)'s riparian claims, Statements of Water Diversion and Use S022168, and S022169, and its Settlement Contract with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Contract No. 14-06-200-878A-R-1. Amount of Water Diverted and Used: Water under RRG Garden Properties LLC water right License Nos. 1718, 3123, and 4636 (Applications A000575, A000577, and A011910), and its Settlement Contract with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Contract No. 14-06-200-878A-R-1 and under the Company's Riparian claims, Statements of Water Diversion and Use S022168 and S022169, is diverted and conveyed using the same facilities. Monthly diversions are measured by Reclamation in accordance to the Settlement Contract (attached to the measurement device form). Diversions from the Sacramento River by the Company under its Sacramento River Settlement Contract with USBR were limited in 2022 to a historically low 18% supply. Therefore, diversions under the Company’s water rights were also severely limited during 2022. Absent this reduced contract supply, the Company would have diverted additional water to meet demand in its service area. For the purposes of reporting, the measured diversions are allocated to the individual water right licenses and claims based on land use information and the priority of the water rights. Pursuant to the Licensee’s Settlement Contract, meters have been installed and certified as to accuracy by the US Bureau of Reclamation (USBR). As of the date of this report Reclamation has not provided all of the raw data files. Once provided, the raw data set will be attached to this report as-is, without any quality assurance and control performed. Therefore, the raw data set may contain erroneous data for numerous and various reasons. The raw data is evaluated and reviewed for quality assurance and control in order to report monthly diversions under the pertinent water right(s).
