Conservation Supporting Information
Description of conservation methods
The Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) Water Conservation program include: 1) Limiting landscape irrigation to 3 days per week and prohibits wasteful water uses, such as hosing down driveways or irrigating within 48 hours of a significant rain event; 2) Informing and educating customers about the Ordinance and providing resources to assist in identifying leaks and improving water use efficiency; 3) Expanded public awareness by traditional outreach plus engaging in social media posts, radio spots, and advertising billboards; 4) Offering a variety of rebates and programs to assist customers in using water more efficiently including a turf replacement rebate, water efficient devices rebates for high efficiency clothes washers, premium high efficiency toilets, weather based irrigation controllers. Supplying residential customers free faucet aerators, showerheads, and leak detection kits; 5) Providing in-person and virtual workshops on the benefits of sustainable landscaping and conducts outdoor demonstrations of turf replacement through Hands on Workshops; 6) Sending Home Water Reports to customers including professional California friendly landscape designs for turf replacement projects with single family residential bills.
