Conservation Supporting Information
Description of conservation methods
Optimum water conservation efforts are ongoing and include, but are not limited to, good water management and farming practices such as, recirculation system, crop shifts, varietal changes, laser leveling of fields, weed abatement, and irrigation scheduling techniques. The total quantity of water conserved during each year is variable and depends upon numerous factors, including but not limited to climatic conditions, hydrologic conditions, and on farm operational practices.
Description of baseline water use and time period
Differentiating and measuring or quantifying conserved water for some efforts is not possible or feasible due to the complexity of the multiple variables involved.
Description of conservation calculation methods
Difference between the face value and the monthly diversions.
Conserved water used? No
Additional Remarks
Purpose of Use: The acreage identified in this report receives water under River Garden Farms Company's License Nos. 1718, 3123, and 4636 (Applications A000575, A000577, and A011910), and its Settlement Contract with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Contract No. 14-06-200-878-A-R-1. Amount of Water Diverted and Used: Water under River Garden Farms Company's water right License Nos. 1718,3123, and 4636 (Applications A000575, A000577, and A011910), and its Settlement Contract with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Contract No. 14-06-200-878A-R-1 and under the Company's Riparian claims, Statements of Water Diversion and Use S022168, and S022169, is diverted and conveyed using the same facilities. For the purposes of reporting, the measured diversions are allocated to the individual water right licenses and claims based on land use information and the priority of the water rights. Pursuant to the Licensee’s Settlement Contract, meters have been installed and certified as to accuracy by the US Bureau of Reclamation (USBR). As of the date of this report Reclamation has not provided all of the raw data files. Once provided, the raw data set will be attached to this report as-is, without any quality assurance and control performed. Therefore, the raw data set may contain erroneous data for numerous and various reasons. The raw data is evaluated and reviewed for quality assurance and control in order to report monthly diversions under the pertinent water right(s). The amount of Groundwater Use identified above reflects only the quantity that was pumped and could be credited under this license during the period the License was not curtailed. Landowners within the Company participated in a Water Transfer Program during 2021 under which additional groundwater was pumped and served to the place of use in lieu of surface water deliveries under the Contract. A total of 7,458 acre-feet of groundwater was pumped in lieu of surface water diversions under the Contract in between May 1 and September 30, 2021 for the purposes of a groundwater substitution transfer. Of this 7,458 acre-feet, 6,488 acre-feet was considered transferrable. Absent the water transfer, the Company would have diverted an additional 7,458 under its contract and/or underlying water rights. In addition During 2021, landowners within the company participated in a Land Idling / Crop Shifting Water Transfer program which reduced the demand for surface water by idling fields or shifting crops. As a result of these actions, a total of 8,091 acre-feet of surface water was made water available for transfer under the Contract. Absent the transfer, this amount would have been diverted under its contract and/or underlying water rights.
