8. Conservation of Water
a. Are you now employing water conservation efforts? Yes
Describe any water conservation efforts you have initiated Optimum water conservation efforts are ongoing and include, but are not limited to, good water management and farming practices such as, recirculation system, crop shifts, varietal changes, laser leveling of fields, weed abatement, and irrigation scheduling techniques. The total quantity of water conserved during each year is variable and depends upon numerous factors, including but not limited to climatic conditions, hydrologic conditions, and onfarm operational practices. Differentiating and measuring or quantifying conserved water for some efforts is not possible or feasible due to the complexity of the multiple variables involved. Therefore, the total annual quantity of water conserved (15,627 acre-feet) is estimated based on the difference between the 29,800 acre-feet authorized for diversion under the Settlement Contract No. 14-06-200-878A-R-1 between the Company and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and the 13,951 acre-feet diverted in 2019 under the contract. The estimated quantity conserved allocated to Statements of Water Diversion and Use S022168, and S022169 was based on land use and allocated to the individual Statements in proportion to their diversions. The estimated quantity conserved allocated to License Nos. 1718 (A575) and 3123 (A577) was based on land use and allocated in order of priority up to the face value of the water right.
b. Amount of water conserved
I have data to support the above surface water use reductions due to conservation efforts.
Water Quality and Wastewater Reclamation
a. Are you now or have you been using reclaimed water from a wastewater treatment facility, desalination facility, or water polluted by waste to a degree which unreasonably affects such water for other beneficial causes? No
b. Amount of reduced diversion
Type of substitute water supply
Amount of substitute water supply used
I have data to support the above surface water use reductions due to the use of a substitute water supply
Conjuctive Use of Surface Water and Groundwater
a. Are you now using groundwater in lieu of surface water? No
b. Amount of groundwater used
I have data to support the above surface water use reductions due to the use of groundwater.
Additional Remarks
Purpose of Use: The acreage identified in this report receives water under River Garden Farms Companys riparian claims, Statements of Water Diversion and Use S022168, and S022169, and its Settlement Contract with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Contract No. 14-06-200-878A-R-1. Amount of Water Diverted and Used: Water under River Garden Farms Companys water right License Nos. 1718 and 3123, and 4636 (Applications A000575 and A000577), and its Settlement Contract with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Contract No. 14-06-200-878A-R-1 and under the Companys Riparian claims, Statements of Water Diversion and Use S022168, and S022169, is diverted and conveyed using the same facilities. Monthly diversions are measured by Reclamation in accordance to the Settlement Contract (attached to the measurement device form). For the purposes of reporting, the measured diversions are allocated to the individual water right licenses and claims based on land use information and the priority if the water rights. The raw data set attached to this report is provided as-is, without any quality assurance and control performed. Therefore, the raw data set may contain erroneous data for numerous and various reasons. The raw data is evaluated and reviewed for quality assurance and control in order to report monthly diversions under the pertinent water right(s).
