Type of Diversion Both Direct Diversion and Diversion to Storage
Comments Beginning about November of each year, water is stored behind the Silver Lake Dam for use the following year. Diversions from the point of diversion located on Silver Creek, several miles below Silver Lake Dam, occur year round at an approximate minimum of about ten acre feet per month for domestic use and fire protection of homes located at Spanish Ranch. Excess during the winter period flows back into Spanish Creek East of Spanish Ranch. In or about May of each year, depending on water needs, additional water is drawn from the point of diversion for the other uses of the water: irrigation, stock watering, landscape and domestic uses, and dust abatement.
