Describe any water conservation efforts you have initiated |
This project is connected as part of a region wide collection and reuse of ag-tailwater. The district has and enforces water use and waste of water regulations. Water users are provided monthly detailed analysis using real-time crop water demand and water application efficiency. Irrigation efficiency evaluations are made available to water users, and seasonal water use tracking, by field, is provided monthly. The district provides preseason irrigation work shops in English and Spanish and publishes a periodic irrigation newsletter in conjunction with two neighboring agricultural water agencies. Regarding responses to questions 8i and 8t: According to the 1981 Contract between CA Department of Water Resources and North Delta Water Agency diversion and use of water is limited to reasonable and beneficial use. Article 8.(a)(ii) of the Contract states in part "the State recognizes the right of the water user of the Agency to divert from Delta channels for reasonable and beneficial uses for agricultural, municipal, and industrial purposes" and further "that the State shall furnish such water as may be required within the Agency to the extent not otherwise available under the rights of water users" All diversions and use reported under this water rights were for reasonable and beneficial purposes.
