8e. Water transfered No
8f. Quantity transfered (Acre-Feet)
8g. Dates which transfer occurred / to /
8h. Transfer approved by
Water Supply Contracts
8i. Water supply contract No
8j. Contract with
8k. Other provider
8l. Contract number
8m. Source from which contract water was diverted
8n. Point of diversion same as identified water right

8s. All monthly reported diversion claimed under the prior rights
8t. Amount (Acre-Feet) of reported diversion solely under contract
5. Water Diversion Measurement
a. Measurement
Water directly diverted and/or diverted to storage was measured
b. Types of measuring devices used
  • Weir
  • Other: Capacity Curve of Silver Lake by engineer for storage.
c. Additional technology used
  • Flow Totalizer
Description of additional technology used I believe this is the correct technology used. Volume times duration of flow. This is measured where the water leaves Silver Lake, flowing into Silver Creek above the point of diversion.
d. Who installed your measuring device(s)
  • Licensed Civil or Agricultural Engineer
  • Other: Original construction pre-1880, person unknown
e. Make, model number, and last calibration date of your measuring device(s) Unknown at this time. Granite Rock walls and floor of known, set dimensions with depth measurement device.
f. Why direct measurement using a device listed in Section 1 is "not locally cost effective"
  • No power at diversion point
Explanation of why use of devices and technologies listed in Section 1 are "not locally cost effective" At the Point of Diversion there is no power and Silver Creek is in a remote area not accessible by vehicles. All materials to build the annual diversion structure must be carried in by hand. Water enters the Silver Creek Pipeline of a known diameter, flows down to Spanish Ranch, where a flow meter in the pipeline measures water flow.
g. Method(s) used as an alternative to direct measurement
  • Pipe/trajectory method
Explanation of method(s) used as an alternative to direct measurement Flow meter in pipeline near where it enters Spanish Ranch.
6. Purpose of Use
Domestic 12 houses, 8 trailers, landscape
Fire Protection Silver Lake, hydrants at Spanish Ranch
Irrigation 115 Acres Pasture
Stockwatering 30-60 cattle
Fish and Wildlife Preservation and Enhancement Water from Lake not taken into pipe left for Fish and Wildlife
7. Changes in Method of Diversion
None
8. Conservation of Water
a. Are you now employing water conservation efforts? No
Describe any water conservation efforts you have initiated
b. Amount of water conserved Acre-Feet
I have data to support the above surface water use reductions due to conservation efforts.
9. Water Quality and Wastewater Reclamation
a. Are you now or have you been using reclaimed water from a wastewater treatment facility, desalination facility, or water polluted by waste to a degree which unreasonably affects such water for other beneficial causes? No
b. Amount of reduced diversion
Type of substitute water supply
Amount of substitute water supply used
I have data to support the above surface water use reductions due to the use of a substitute water supply
10. Conjuctive Use of Surface Water and Groundwater
a. Are you now using groundwater in lieu of surface water? Yes
b. Amount of groundwater used 0.5 Acre-Feet
I have data to support the above surface water use reductions due to the use of groundwater. No
11a. Additional Remarks
Water meters for measuring ground water have not been installed in 2015. A proposal to improve the pipeline and Point of Diversion located on US Forest Service lands was submitted to the agency August 2015. The plan is to replace the leaky plastic pipeline with a superior material free of leaks and buried. In addition, an improved Point of Diversion with proper measurement devices is included in the multi-year project. Together, use of water will be much more regulated and with far less loss through the pipeline. When USFS will complete its review is anyone's guess.
