Description of water conservation efforts The objective of the District is to maximize the beneficial use of water by implementing numerous water conservation efforts throughout their service area. These conservation efforts result in reduced diversions from the Sacramento River due to improved operational practices, canal lining and maximum reuse of tailwater. The extent of beneficial use is still in the process of being established; and therefore, the quantity of water conserved under this water right has not been determined at this time.

Additional Remarks
The District is currently in the process of preparing a Water Diversion and Use Monitoring Plan pursuant to Term 16 of the Order approving issuance of the Permit. Diversions under Permit 21274 during 2010 were applied to 14,382 acres for rice straw decomposition, fish and wildlife enhancement, and recreation. Following completion of the Water Diversion and Use Monitoring Plan, an estimte of the amount of water consumptively and non-consumptively used will be provided to the Division.
