Optimum water conservation efforts are ongoing and include, but are not limited to, good water management and farming practices such as, re-circulation system, crop shifts, varietal changes and laser leveling of fields. The total quantity of water conserved during each year is variable and depends upon numerous factors, including but not limited to climatic conditions, hydrologic conditions, and on-farm operational practices. Differentiating and measuring or quantifying conserved water for some efforts is not possible or feasible due to the complexity of the multiple variables involved. Therefore, the annual quantity of water conserved (8,978 acre-feet) is estimated based on the difference between the 29,800 acre-feet authorized for diversion under the Companys Contract with the Bureau of Reclamation, Settlement Contract No. 14-06-200-878A-R-1, and the 20,322 acre-feet diverted for beneficial use by River Garden Farms in 2011. This quantity includes conserved water under the Company¿s License Nos. 1718, 3123, and 4636 (Applications 575, 577, and 11910, respectively), riparian claims, and the Contract with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

Purpose of Use: The acreage identified in this report receives water under River Garden Farms Companys water right Licenses Nos. 1718 (A 575), 3123 (A 577), 4636 (A 11910), and Settlement Contract No. 14-06-200-878A-R-1 between the Company and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The water under all the Companys rights is conveyed using the same facilities.
Amount of Water Diverted and Used: Monthly diversions from the Sacramento River are measured and include water diverted under License Nos. 1718, 3123, riparian rights, and the Settlement Contract. Land use information is used to allocate the portion of measured diversion to both riparian and non-riparian lands. The non-riparian portion of the measured diversions was then allocated to the two Licenses in order of priority. The diversion quantities identified in the 2011 Reports of Licensee for Licenses Nos. 1718 and 3123, together with the Supplemental Statements of Diversion and Use for 2011 equal the diversions measured by Reclamation at River Garden Farms Companys Sacramento River points of diversion.
