Conservation of Water |
Are you now employing water conservation efforts? |
Yes
|
Description of water conservation efforts |
Optimal water conservation efforts are ongoing and include, but are not limited to, good water management and farming practices such as re-circulation of tail water, laser land leveling, crop varietal changes, and crop shifts. The quantity of water conserved through these practices has not been determined. Therefore the amount of water conserved shown below is based on the total quantity authorized for diversion under Licenses 5463, 6389B, 11001, 11002, 6389C, and 5667 as discussed under Additional Remarks, the quantity of water put to beneficial use in 2010.

Water Quality and Wastewater Reclamation |
During the period covered by this Report, did you use reclaimed water
from a wastewater treatment facility, water from a desalination facility,
or water polluted by waste to a degree which unreasonably affects the
water for other beneficial uses?

Conjuctive Use of Groundwater and Surface Water |
During the period covered by this Report, were you using groundwater
in lieu of available surface water authorized under your license?

Additional Remarks |
Purpose of Use: The acreage shown is the total acreage irrigated under Licenses 5463, 6389B, 11001, and 11002. Water is diverted under Licenses 5463, 6389B, 11001, and 11002 of Scheidel et.al. and Licenses 6389C and 5667 of River Ranch Partnership at a single point of diversion. The places of use under these Licenses overlap to varying degrees or do not overlap at all. Licenses 11001 and 11002 contain terms that limit the combined total quantity that may be diverted each year under the six Licenses to 11,174 acre-feet. These lands also receive water under Contract 14-06-200-5520A-R-1 between the Pleasant Grove-Verona Mutual Water Company and the US Bureau of Reclamation. Due to the complexity of the overlapping places of use, the combined use limitation of the licenses, and the Contract, it is not possible at this time to separate the quantity of water measured at the point of diversion that is delivered under the individual licenses; therefore, the acreage, the quantities diverted, the quantities beneficially used, and the estimated amount conserved shown on this report are also shown on the reports for 2010 for Licenses 5463, 6389B, 11002, 6389C, and 5667. The Licensees believe the combined use limit imposed on the Licenses by the SWRCB and the Contract require diversions and use to be evaluated collectively; however, the Licensees will work to develop a methodology for reasonable separating water use under the individual Licenses for future reports.
