8. Are you now employing water conservation efforts? Yes
Description of water conservation efforts The Hastings RD 2060 and its landowners maximize beneficial use of water through implementation of good water management and good farming practices including but not limited to recirculation and reuse of tail water, use of automated canal control structures, land leveling, and drainage improvements and maintenance. The quantity of water conserved each year through these measures is variable and dependent upon numerous factors including but not limited to climatic and hydrological conditions as well as on-farm operational practices. The quantity conserved through these various measured is unknown at this time. The quantity conserved that could be credited under this License in 2014 was limited due to curtailments by the SWRCB.

Additional Remarks
Water is diverted to the place of use via siphons and is not currently measured. Therefore, as identified under 5g above, the amount diverted and beneficially used is calculated based on the consumptive use of the crops grown and an estimated irrigation efficiency. This method provides the total amount of water needed by the crop(s) and does not differentiate between the source of the supply, i.e. surface water, seepage or recirculation of tailwater. Diversions outside of the season authorized under License 2833 are reported on Statements of Water Diversion and Use filed by the individual landowners. The place of use is within the North Delta Water Agency and therefore, it is also entitled to receive water under the Agency's 1981 Contract with the Department of Water Resources.Regarding responses to questions 8i through 8t: According to the 1981 Contract between CA Department of Water Resources and North Delta Water Agency diversion and use of water is limited to reasonable and beneficial use. Article 8.(a)(ii) of the Contract states in part "the State recognizes the right of the water users of the Agency to divert from Delta channels for reasonable and beneficial uses for agricultural, municipal, and industrial purposes" and further "that the State shall furnish such water as may be required within the Agency to the extent not otherwise available under the rights of water users" All diversions and use reported under this water rights were for reasonable and beneficial purposes.
