Conservation of Water
8. Are you now employing water conservation efforts? Yes
Description of water conservation efforts Conservation efforts by Pelger Mutual Water Company include improved operational practices, canal lining, and maximum reuse of tailwater. The quantity conserved each year through these efforts is affected by hydrologic and meteorological conditions and has not yet been determined. Because any water savings due to these measures occurred mainly during the 2014 curtailment period, the quantity of water conserved has not been included in this report.

Additional Remarks
Amount of Water Diverted and Used: Diversions under this license were limited in 2014 due to the drought and curtailments by the SWRCB. Quantities shown include only water that was diverted or could be credited under this License during times the License was not curtailed. Lands within Pelger Mutual Water Company receive water under License 613A, License 8547B, Permit 20933, and USBR Contract No. 14-06-200-2073A. Therefore, the place of use continued to receive water under Contract 14-06-200-2073A with the USBR during 2014. In addition, during the curtailment period lands were served by groundwater and recirculated tail water. Conjunctive Use of Groundwater: The amount of Groundwater Used identified under Item 13 reflects only the quantity that was pumped and could be credited under this license during the period the License was not curtailed. The licensee participated in a 2014 Water Transfer Program under which additional groundwater was pumped and served to the place of use in lieu of surface water deliveries under Contract No. 14-06-200-2073A. A total of 3,976 acre-feet of groundwater was pumped in lieu of surface water diversions under the Contract in 2014 for the purposes of a groundwater substitution transfer. Of this 3,976 acre-feet, 3,499 was considered transferrable.
