Conservation of Water |
8. Are you now employing water conservation efforts? |
Yes
|
Description of water conservation efforts |
Optimum water conservation efforts are ongoing and include, but are not limited to good water management and farming practices such as, re-circulation system, varietal changes and laser leveling of fields. Conservation measures also include recapture and reuse of an undetermined quantity of tailwater originating from both surface and groundwater sources. In addition, Murphy Lake Farms has installed approximately 12,240 feet of pipelines, to replace unlined canals within the place of use covered by Licenses 6399, 6389D3, and 7064C, which have resulted in reduced seepage losses and an undetermined reduction in surface water diversions. Because the water savings due to these measures occurred mainly during the 2014 curtailment period, the quantity of water conserved has not been included in this report.

Water Quality and Wastewater Reclamation |
10. During the period covered by this Report, did you use reclaimed water
from a wastewater treatment facility, water from a desalination facility,
or water polluted by waste to a degree which unreasonably affects the
water for other beneficial uses?
|
No
|
11. Amount of reclaimed, desalinated, or polluted water used |
|
Conjuctive Use of Groundwater and Surface Water |
12. During the period covered by this Report, were you using groundwater
in lieu of available surface water authorized under your license?
|
Yes
|

Additional Remarks |
Amount of Water Diverted and Used: Diversions under this license were limited in 2014 due to the drought and curtailments by the SWRCB. The monthly quantities supplied to the place of use are determined based on the crops irrigated during this reporting period CIMIS data and irrigation scheduling programs developed by the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Irrigation Training and Research Center (ITRC). The quantities are allocated and reported under the Licensees water rights based the priorities and limitations of the rights. Quantities shown include only water that diverted or credited under this License during times the License was not curtailed. The place of use is within the Pleasant Grove-Verona MWC and therefore may receive water under Contract 14-06-200-5520A-R-1 with the USBR. In addition, during the curtailment period lands were served by groundwater and recirculated tail water. Conjunctive Use of Groundwater: The amount of Groundwater Used identified under Item 13 reflects only the quantity that was pumped and could be credited under this license during the period the License was not curtailed. The licensee participated in Pleasant Grove-Verona MWCs 2014 Water Transfer Program under which additional groundwater was pumped and served to the place of use in lieu of surface water deliveries under Contract 14-06-200-5520A-R-1.
