Conservation of Water |
8. Are you now employing water conservation efforts? |
Yes
|
Description of water conservation efforts |
Optimal water conservation efforts are ongoing and include, but are not limited to, good water management and farming practices such as re-circulation of tail water, laser land leveling, crop varietal changes, and crop shifts. The quantity of water conserved through these practices has not been determined. Therefore the amount of water conserved shown below is based the difference between on the total quantity authorized for diversion under Licenses 5463, 6389B, 11001, 11002, 6389C, and 5667 and the quantity diverted for beneficial use in 2013 plus the quantity transferred in 2013. Due to the nature of use under these Licenses and the complexities, including but not limited to, combined use terms and overlapping places of use, it is not possible to separate the conserved water quantity under individual Licenses. Therefore, the quantity shown under Item 9 is reported under all six of the above referenced Licenses.

Additional Remarks |
Purpose of Use: The acreage shown is the total acreage irrigated under Licenses 5463, 6389B, 11001, and 11002. Water is diverted under Licenses 5463, 6389B, 11001, and 11002 of Scheidel et. al., and Licenses 6389C and 5667 of River Ranch Partnership at a single point of diversion. The places of use under these Licenses overlap to varying degrees or do not overlap at all. Licenses 11001 and 11002 contain terms that limit the combined total quantity that may be diverted each year under all six Licenses to 11,174 acre-feet. The places of use under all of the Licenses are also within the service area of Contract 14-06-200-5520A-R-1 between the Pleasant Grove-Verona Mutual Water Company and the US Bureau of Reclamation. The total quantity diverted is measured pursuant to the Contract with Reclamation. The quantity reported under each of the six Licenses was determined first by allocating the total diversions between Scheidel et. al., and River Ranch Partnership based on the acreage irrigated in 2013. The quantity allocated to Scheidel et. al., was then allocated and reported under its four Licenses based on priority.
