The BOD analysis for EFF003 for April was not completed per the approved test method in Title 40 Cod of Federal Regulations Section 136.3. The sample was incubated for 11 days rather than the 5 days specified by method Standard Methods 5210B. |
The Laboratory will be implementing a written system to record the dates the samples are to be removed from the incubator that will be visible on the equipment. This will avoid samples remining in the incubator past the required time even if the analyst that started the test isn't available. Additionally, the LADWP permit administrator will be following up with the laboratory two weeks after samples are collected to confirm there are no issues with the analysis that would require resampling. |
