1123627 12/31/2023 CTOX Chronic Toxicity-Green Alga-Growth Monthly Median limit is 0 % effect and reported value was 31 % effect at EFF-003. Operational changes have occurred to address the elevated ammonia levels, which have resulted in a significant decrease in the ammonia levels in the effluent since the samples have been collected. Violation U eSMR
1123626 12/12/2023 CTOX Chronic Toxicity-Green Alga-Growth Daily Maximum limit is 50 % effect and reported value was 84 % effect at EFF-003. Operational changes have occurred to address the elevated ammonia levels, which have resulted in a significant decrease in the ammonia levels in the effluent. Violation U eSMR
1118203 05/11/2023 CAT1 Total Suspended Solids (TSS) 7-Day Average (Mean) limit is 65 mg/L and reported value was 71 mg/L at EFF-001. The sampling port and sampling equipment have been examined to ensure proper placement of the sampling hose in the effluent stream and that sampling equipment is functioning properly. Violation U eSMR
1094713 08/18/2021 OEV E.coli Daily Maximum limit is 400 MPN/100 mL and reported value was 1600 MPN/100 mL at EFF-003. Upon notification of the August 18, 2021, E. coli result, disinfectant chlorine levels were increased and the sample port was thoroughly cleaned and flushed. An investigation was conducted to identify any operational abnormalities. None were identified and no further exceedances for E. coli have occurred to date. Violation U eSMR
1091536 05/31/2021 CAT2 4,4-DDT Monthly Average (Mean) limit is 0.00059 ug/L and reported value was 0.0021 ug/L at EFF-003. 4,4'-DDT is a legacy pollutant known for its persistence in the environment. The use of 4,4'-DDT was banned in the United States in 1972. The 4,4'-DDT monthly sample collected on May 4, 2021 had a result of 0.0041 ug/L that was flagged by laboratory staff with "calibration verification recovery was below the method control limits for this analyte due to matrix interference carried over from analytical samples." An investigation was conducted to identify any operational or sampling problems, none were identified. A follow up sample was collected on May 27, 2021 and the result was None-Detected (ND). No other detections have occurred to date and since the effective date of Order R7-2017-0006 (June 1, 2017). CVWD is unaware of any source for this banned legacy insecticide detected by the laboratory in the sample collected on May 4, 2021. When the May 4, 2021 sample result with the matrix interference flag is included, the monthly average effluent limitation is exceeded. When the May 4, 2021 sample result is excluded, no effluent limitations are exceeded. Violation U eSMR
1091537 05/04/2021 CAT2 4,4-DDT Daily Maximum limit is 0.00118 ug/L and reported value was 0.0041 ug/L at EFF-003. 4,4'-DDT is a legacy pollutant and is known for its persistence in the environment. 1067336 10/28/2019 OEV E.coli Single Sample Maximum limit is 400 MPN/100 mL and reported value was 2419.2 MPN/100 mL at EFF-003. Upon notification of the result, disinfectant chlorine levels on the effluent were increased from 7 parts per million (ppm) to 11 ppm, at the beginning of the chlorine contact maze prior to dechlorination and discharge. The sample port where the bacteriological sample is collected was thoroughly cleaned and flushed. An investigation was conducted to identify any operational anomalies. None were identified and no further exceedances have occurred to date. Violation U eSMR
